About

This site is designed to be online for ever. I want to store the digital memory of people's lives for anyone who wants to use them

I am starting a charity and a network of connections to make sure that there are funds to keep the site going in perpetuity and that there are people who will keep it going.

I was brought up in place where my ancestors bought the house in 1666 and I always thought it was a short time but now I realise it gives you a very long time perspective on things.

The name comes after the Rune Stones that the Viking erected to commemorate themselves. For example this beautiful stone is catalogued U240 and is one of the Lingsber Runestones whihc was errected inmemory of Halfdan by his sons and wife. I wonder if it inspired the modern childrens book "Bracelet of Bones" by Kenvi Crossley.
